The Value Of A DJ
A DJ is a professional.
From the large, ever-expanding music library that is full of today’s hits to all the equipment required, a professional wedding DJ is someone who has invested their time and money into making sure they can provide the right type of entertainment for any event.
Equipment.
SOUNDfonix has all of its own equipment: speakers, mixers, midi controllers, computer, microphones, all the cables you could ever want, gaffers tape to hold secure and conceal said cables, lights, and most importantly,…
Music
We have over 14,000 unique songs in our library, removing the various remixes of some songs, we have a vast music library spanning from the 50s to today, virtually every genre pop, hard rock country, r&b. We curate our library, adding the hits that everyone loves, and some that people hate to love. Our music library grows every week, but at least a few songs. Ask about your favourite.
A Professional Wedding DJ should be able to read a group of people, to avoid taking blind, musical guesses
People Watching Skills.
I’m always observing the dancers, seeing what they respond to and making adjustments to the upcoming musical choices. And more than watching, I ask questions, I take the time while DJing to go and meet people on a personal level, find out what they’re thinking, and what they’d like to hear, what’ll get them dancing.
You will never find a pre-planned playlist played in order song-by-song in my library — never. Adjustments and last-second changes are always made.
A Winning Attitude.
Not an attitude.
Being a DJ comes with a certain charisma. I’m actually quite likeable (if I do say so myself). You don’t do this job for 20+ years by not being friendly, professional and courteous,… and at least moderately entertaining.
I am good-natured and easy-going, treating everyone with the same level of respect: brides, grooms, MIL, FIL, nephews, kids, and other vendors. What other people think of me is important to what I do. Why would I treat anyone with disrespect?
It’s this personal touch, this value that a live, educated, well-trained DJ brings to your wedding, and why you should strongly consider a live DJ for your wedding.
